Project Description
Polycarbonate PC
Polycarbonate is a group of thermoplastics that are easy to work with, molding, and thermoforming, and are widely used in modern manufacturing. The name “polycarbonate” is based on the fact that these are polymers that have functional groups joined by carbonate groups in a long molecular chain. Carbon monoxide was also used to synthesize C1 on an industrial scale and produce diphenyl carbonate, which then it is esterified with a diphenolic derivative to obtain polyaromatic carbonates.
Characteristics of polycarbonate:
- 12 times more impact resistant than high impact PMMA
- Unbreakable
- Resistance to UV lightning
- Electrical, thermal and acoustic insulation
- Conformable and thermoformable
- Working temperature 120° C
- Self-extinguishing
Applications:
- Machinery protections
- Vending machines
- Security glazing
- Skylights
- Displays
- Sound insulation
