Project Description

Methacrylate, Polycarbonate and Petg

El MetacrilatoPolicarbonato y Petg son plásticos técnicos empleados en todo tipo de sector industrial.

Polycarbonate and Petg mainly for the protection of all types of machinery. From the Packaging, food, textile industry, automotive, machine tool, etc… sector.

Polycarbonate and Petg (copolyester) are similar materials. They have advantages and disadvantages between them.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a material suitable for high impact, with a very high and low temperature range. It is not physiologically inert unless it undergoes a superficial treatment.

Hot bends up to 6mm thick. From a greater thickness it must be folded cold. Dry bending causes setbacks, therefore loss of degrees of bending and stresses where it can crack and break. It also absorbs moisture, producing air bubbles that can be unsightly. These bubbles are created in the hot bending process.

Polycarbonate is a material that is marketed with guaranteed surface treatments.

Treatments

Dura or AR polycarbonate. With silicon coating to make it more resistant to cleaning and chemical attack. It has greater scratch resistance.

UV polycarbonate. materials suitable for outdoors.

Antirefex polycarbonate. This material also has UV resistance. Suitable for screens.

Antistatic polycarbonate. For installations with Atex regulations. It is a material with very good resistance to chemical attack.

Petg or Copolyester

Petg or Copolyester is a high impact material, with a lower Charpy resistance than polycarbonate and with a lower resistance range to temperatures, positive and negative. on the contrary, it bends more easily when hot to thicknesses of 12 mm. Drying is not appropriate to fold as it breaks.

It is physiologically inert, therefore FDA approved, and suitable for food contact. It does not absorb moisture therefore the folds are more aesthetic than with polycarbonate.

Both Polycarbonate or Petg will not chip in the event of breakage. Its transparency is approximately 96%, invaluable to the human eye.

Methacrylate is totally transparent, with very good resistance to chemical attack. No matter the thickness size, transparency is achieved after polishing their surfaces. On the contrary, it is not suitable for protection since it splinters like non-tempered glass. We have a warehouse and machinery for the commercialization and handling of acrylics and transparent or opaque materials.

We offer a fast service of pieces cut to size and correctly squared.

We carry out simple thermoforming, according to the customer’s plan or sample.

Because a large part of the pieces obtained with these materials are of significant aesthetic value, we are very demanding with the finishes.
