Project Description

Arnite (PET)

Arnite or PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a crystalline thermoplastic, obtained by extrusion and commonly known as polyester.

It is the thermoplastic that wears less to friction and additive improves the slip, very stable dimensionally and very hard, therefore fragile and little resistant to the impact. It also suffers from hydrolysis.

Highly resistant to high loads subject to wear.

Main features:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Good creep resistance
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Highly wear resistant
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Good electrical insulation
  • Physiologically inert

Applications:

  • Bearings
  • Wheels
  • Gears
  • Rollers
  • Precision parts
