Project Description
Acetal (POM-C and POM-H)
Acetal or POM (Methylene Polyoxide) is a thermoplastic obtained by extrusion, which is divided into 2 families, Copolymer and Homopolymer.
Also known as Delrin or resurt, it is a polymer widely used in all kinds of industries, but mainly in the food and pharmaceutical industries due to its inert condition.
COPOLIMERO is the most used, of excellent resistance to hydrolysis and thermal oxidation (degradation by exposure to heat)
HOMOPOLYMER does not have resistance to hydrolysis like the Copolymer but on the contrary it is more rigid and hard, therefore more stable dimensionally.
Main features:
- High mechanical strength
- Good creep resistance
- Good sliding and wear resistance properties
- Very easy to machine
- Physiologically inert
- Not self-extinguishing
- They can be disinfected in an autoclave up to 120/130 ° in short periods
Applications:
- Bearings
- Wheels
- Gears
- Rollers
- Plungers
- Guides
- Skates
- Endless screwdrivers
- Bottling stars
